A board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with over 20 years of experience in the medical field, including 12 years as a nurse practitioner, April has worked in a variety of care settings, including family medicine, internal medicine, public health, wound care, and outpatient psychiatry.
April earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, in 2008, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia, in 2012. She spent over a decade working in primary care and wound care before completing her postgraduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health at Bluefield University, Virginia, in 2023.
With a holistic approach to care, April specializes in treating mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, and chronic mental illness. She provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management, and brief psychotherapeutic interventions to patients of all ages. April believes in creating individualized care plans that emphasize client involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practices.
April resides in Lebanon, Virginia, with her husband and two sons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
