What is Pioneer Counseling?

Pioneer Counseling is a therapy practice offering professional mental health services, specializing in areas like trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Our goal is to provide tailored counseling that helps individuals navigate their mental health journey.

We offer a range of therapy services including:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Couples Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Online Therapy Sessions

If you call our office and do not receive an answer, please leave a voicemail. While we do not have a receptionist, a provider will be available during business hours and will return your call within 72 hours.
– We require a referral from your primary care physician, which is typically faxed to 276.880.0036.
– Once we receive your referral, our staff will contact you to provide access to your patient portal.
– Through the portal, you can complete the necessary new patient paperwork. If you do not have email or internet access, alternative arrangements can be made.
– After your paperwork is completed and insurance authorization is confirmed, our staff will contact you to schedule your initial appointment.

Yes, we offer secure online therapy sessions that you can access from the comfort of your home.

Our operating hours are Monday to Friday from  9 AM to 4 PM.  Evening and weekend appointments are available upon request.

At our office, we accept a variety of payment methods, including cash, checks, money orders, debit/credit cards, and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
• Payments Due at Time of Service: All co-pays, deductibles, and private pay fees are due at the start of each session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
• Insurance: If you’re using insurance, the cost of services will vary based on your coverage, co-pay, and deductible. Fees typically range from $5.00 to $350.00 depending on your plan.
• Missed Appointments & Cancellations: If you miss an appointment or fail to cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice (except in emergencies), a $75.00 fee will apply.
• Forms & Paperwork: Requests for letters, forms (such as FMLA or disability paperwork), or other administrative documents will incur a fee.
• Short forms: $40.00
• Longer forms/paperwork: $75.00 per hour (FMLA forms usually require a minimum of 30 minutes).
• Short-term disability paperwork may take longer and could require additional assessments beyond the intake evaluation.
• Administrative tasks (e.g., preparing releases of information, sending records, non-clinical phone calls) will be billed at $75.00 per hour, with a minimum charge of $25.00.
• Provider Requirements for Paperwork: Our providers will not complete FMLA, disability, or other support letters unless you have attended at least 6-8 sessions. Additionally, they will only complete these forms if the clinical documentation supports your request.
• Phone Consultations: Phone calls with providers lasting between 20-40 minutes will incur a $50.00 fee.
• Multiple Insurance Policies: If you have more than one health insurance policy, it is your responsibility to notify your provider. Failure to do so may result in denied claims, in which case you will be responsible for the billed amount.
• Extended Sessions: Appointments exceeding 60 minutes will be billed as follows:
• 20-30 minutes: $50.00
• 45 minutes: $100.00
• 60 minutes: $125.00
• Over 60 minutes: $200.00

Your first session will involve discussing your reasons for seeking therapy, any concerns you have, and creating a plan for treatment. It’s an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
